Translate Bar
Effective date: October 5, 2026
Translate Bar (“the app”) is a macOS translator developed by Rustam Baybulatov (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the app processes and why. In short: your texts and translations never leave your Mac.
1. Text you translate
Translation runs entirely on your device using Apple’s built-in Translation framework. The text you copy, type or edit in the app, and the resulting translations, are processed only in your Mac’s memory. We do not collect, store, transmit or have access to them. Language models are downloaded and managed by macOS; see Apple’s Privacy Policy.
2. Clipboard
The app reads the clipboard only when you trigger a translation with ⌘C+C or choose “Translate Clipboard” from the menu. Clipboard contents marked as passwords or confidential by password managers are ignored. Clipboard contents are never stored or sent anywhere.
3. Accessibility permission
If you grant Accessibility access, the app uses it for two purposes only:
to recognize the ⌘C+C shortcut – the app reacts only to the Command+C key combination and does not record any other keystrokes;
to paste the translation in place of the selected text when you choose “Paste & Replace”.
